Admission Process

Our admissions to the first-year foundations are open in June every year, and the notification is published in local newspapers for information. The student has to qualify with an aptitude test and is selected on merit. The shortlisted students are informed of their selection, by the college administration. 

Only applicants belonging to the following categories are eligible for admission to the B.F.A. Course in the State of Goa:

1. Indian Citizen.
2. NRI (for seats reserved under NRI category only.
3. Foreign National/Persons of Indian Origin, nominated by Government of India under GOI nomination.

The application form along with the Prospectus is issued by the Goa College of Art on payment of Rs 200/- in cash or by demand draft in favour of Principal, Goa College of Art, Goa, at Panaji Branch of any Scheduled/Nationalized Bank.

Qualifications

To be eligible for admission to the First Year or the Degree of Bachelor of Fine Art, a candidate should have passed 10+2 examination obtaining at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination i.e. H.S.S.C. conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an examination of any other University or Body recognized as an equivalent thereto with English as a subject.




Application Categories

The admission to the Goa College of Art is reserved for different categories. The Classification and requirements are listed below:

Interview & Aptitude test

The college conducts a personal interview and a aptitude test as part of the admission process.

Portfolio Audition:

The prospective students Portfolio is viewed during the personal interview conducted by the college. 

Aptitude Test:

An aptitude test, held at the college premises. The aptitude test consists of :

1. Drawing in pencil and color  
2. Memory Drawing  
3. General Knowledge of the Arts ( written )

Fees & Concessions

A candidate selected and admitted to the First Year Foundation Course should apply for enrolment to the Registrar, Goa University, in the prescribed form, through the college within one month of his/her admission by paying the necessary fees. 



Deadline for Admission

The applicant is advised to personally submit the application form before the due date, at the College Office. The College Authority will scrutinize applications and accept only those forms, which are complete in all respect.

However, incomplete applications may be accepted only on the last date of submission, and applicants will be given an opportunity to comply with deficiencies within specific time limit. If any application remains incomplete after the due date, College Authority shall review the nature of deficiency and take decision to accept or reject the application. The decision of the College Authority shall be final.

The merit list shall be displayed as per the specific scheduled at the College Notice Board. All the applicants who are offered admission will have to pay the requisite fees on the same day. The fees will be accepted in cash only.
